We needed a lower lateral sewer repair. TLC helped us calm the jolts with a plan for repair and while the cost is hard on anyone ...with a fixed budget, we were thankful for such a fair and honest proposal from TLC. TLC was timely, efficient, and professional, but most importantly showed honesty and concern for the customer. We are happy to be over this hurdle and are amazed at how TLC handled this project from the moment we called for an estimate to the last barricade pick up.
- Ronnie S. | Albuquerque Homeowner
Robert called this morning to make an appointment and arrived at our house to look at a potential sewer repair ... He was absolutely terrific! We walked the site and property, and he explained to me all that the project would entail. It is seldom to meet an individual like Robert who is a definite cut above most people that you find in the workforce today! You are lucky to have an individual like Robert work for you at TLC! Robert is articulate, affable, straightforward, and has the ability to see a problem, understand the project and suggest several alternatives, which no one else saw or suggested at the potential project site. I am grateful to Robert for his candor and honesty.

Types of Sewer Line Repairs
Some repairs require digging trenches to repair the pipe. Sometimes this is unavoidable and the only way to repair is to dig a trench to access the sewer line.
This is a trenchless repair method that involves breaking and expanding the existing buried sewer line while replacing it with a new HDPE pipe.
This type of repair lines the old pipe with a new permanent pipe inside the old, broken line. This is the latest technology in sewer line repair and replacement.
What Causes Sewer Line Problems?
TLC responds to sewer line problems every day. Usually, these are emergency repairs and customers that are very frustrating and stressful for customers. Here are the most common causes of unexpected sewer problems.
Root problems are the most common cause for sewer line repairs. Tree roots will push right through the sewer pipe in search of freshwater. Eventually the roots will block the flow in the sewer pipe and crack it completely.
TYPES OF PIPES
Orangeburg pipes were installed in communities throughout the United States in the 1970s. However, over the years these types of pipes have been found to become very brittle and have consistently failed to hold up under normal conditions. They are not installed anymore and typically have to be replaced.
AGE OF PIPES
Sewer line pipes have an average lifespan of about 50 years. However, over time the pipes will deteriorate. If you use liquid drain cleaners to clear clogs and slow drains the deterioration can be accelerated. Our plumbers never recommend the use of liquid drain cleaners.
HIGH & LOW TEMPERATURES
New Mexico’s high summer temperatures and low winter temperatures can cause shifting in the ground which can cause the pipes to disconnect and become misaligned disrupting the sewer line.
